why doesn't this wood cap??

Post by nilsy » Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:21 pm

I've got Ivetch Endorian Evergreen Wood.
OQ 976 = 97.6%
DR 492 = 98.4%

Trying to make an enzyme reprocessor filter, which is OQ 80% and DR 20%

when I put them in my crafting tool (General item +15) I only come out to 90.38%?

Should I not get 97.76%
97.6 * .8 = 78.08
98.4 * .2 = 19.68
78.08 + 19.68 = 97.76 or 97.76%

The crafting tool is +15 and the station is +45

Help please, I am totally lost?

The schematic calls for just "Wood".

The DR cap for (unspecified) wood is 800. (As opposed to evergreen wood where the DR cap is 500.)

492/800 = 61.9%

97.6 * .8 = 78.08
61.9 * .2 = 12.3

78.08 + 12.3 = 90.38 (Which, amazingly enough, matches your crafting tool figure.)

The moral of this little tale is not to look exclusively at individual resource listing percentages. You also need to check the caps for broader categories that the schematics may call for.

Yes, that is why so many crafters love crafting in SWG, complexity, lots of small details. I've done my best to compile the basics into Beginners Guide for Traders, in the General Crafting forum here. Your problem is discussed in detail in chapter 8 and GymQuirk is absolutely correct.
