caps and crafting

Post by Zanex » Sat Sep 06, 2008 11:42 am

Lets see if I can explain this well enough to be understood:

Copper
CR CD DR HR MA OQ SR UT
1-800 1-1000 1-700 1-650 1-1000 1-1000 1-800 1-800

OK, now I have a "metal slot" that needs OQ, SR, UT

I've a steel that has 971 OQ, 930 SR, and 940 UT

but I also have a copper that has 990 OQ, 765 SR, 770 UT

I would be better off using the copper? Or are the caps noted above countable only when the schematic calls for "Copper"?

I know that if it called for a "Mineral" and not a "Metal" I could use a radioactive 975 OQ and be better off than either the steel or copper above....

I guess the question is do caps apply generically by what is used, or what it asks for?

Yea, I know it's early...I'm gettin' coffee now too..

Thank you

The short answer is that all caps are ruled by what the schematic calls for.

The exception, I am told, are some BM components that actually use the caps from the resources you are really using.

Assuming you are not dealing with these BM things, the schematic calls for Metal and then the caps are for
OQ is never capped, never ever
SR 1000
UT 1000
Then your steel would do better.

Yeah, coffee is also my best friend :)

Hmmm, yep it's BM stuff.

Could you tell me where to find the "some BM components"? or where you heard this?

Thanks

I think this was the first place I heard of this anomaly: http://www.swgcraft.co.uk/forums/viewto ... 7193#p7193

However, you could easily test it out yourself by just reading the figures from the lower righty corner at the page in your crafting tool where you fill the resource slots. See the difference between your steel and copper, it should read there.

And once you have done that, why don't you post your results in the BM crafting forum? Please.
