The 4% bonus from expertise ?

Post by Veerlo » Sun Jul 20, 2008 8:58 am

Ok so i read somewhere that it's actually a +40 static to the stats when you craft.

I just wanna make sure i understand right so i'll take in example one ressource i have

SR = 732(761)

OQ = 965(1000)

Let's say i need 33% SR 66% CD

Max rating would be 761*0.33+1000*0.66=911.13

Actual rating is 732*0.33+965*0.66=878.46

Taking in account the 4%(+40) : 878.46+40=918.46

Which means i am over the theorical cap at 911.13 This ressource is capped and would get me 100% on experimenting
Am i doing the math and understanding this correctly ?

You really want to read the chapter named Power Crafting in the Beginners guide again and carefully read the examples. The reply to this question: When is the bonus applied? Before the formulas (which you do)? Or after?

And what if many resources are used, is the bonus added one by one? Or to the compiled result?

You may actually use your example figures and put the straight into the example formulas of the guide :)

Also, remember that you do not care for the amount used with your current example. That is OK as long as you know the difference and what impact differentiating amounts use to have on the final outcome.

I dont get the joke either. :oops:

Veerlo, Z didnt spell it out, he wants you to read his guide, but you do all the calculations, including any "capped" or "gated" resources, then add 40 to the final result. I think that was your second example. If the result is over 1000, then bring it back to 1000 for your final experiemntal percentage.

Many people assume the bonus is applied to each resource, the wording of the bonus kind of implies that. Then there is the whole issue of 4% vs +40. But our observations and finally weasilling a confirmation out of a dev, prove that its a +40 bonus to the final result.

Just a random bit of silliness. The joke is from 'Tweak' from 'South Park'

I hadn't posted in a while, so I thought I would do something off the wall to derail a thread. But obviously everyone here isn't cultured enough (satire) :P

OP cross-posted in the official forums as well and I don't know, yet, if he responded there or not.
