Since the crafting section seems to be locked (I was at least unable to post anything, maybe I'm banned...) and SWG EMU seems to be the only active SWG community at the moment, where should I post about crafting stuff?
Most guides and tips are for NGE and while some work exactly the same in the Emu, most do not.
Having played both Pre-Cu and NGE and now back to Pre-Cu (Emu) I'll admit to being a bit confused at times when it comes to crafting, as an example; I have vague memories that using all experiment points at once was dangerous in pre-Cu but not in NGE, but not really sure. Oh and the crafting macros I used to have don't seem to work in the Emu.
Anyway i have time on my hands and don't mind writing a few guides of my own, just wanted to know where to post this stuff.

Yeah, we locked the crafting forums after SOE's shutdown. We realized they were mostly NGE info. We made the decision to support the EMUs and made this forum to discuss them. So, basically anything you want to post about an EMU goes here. If it is specifically about Basilisk, then probably in the Galaxy Specific EMU forum.
We dont want to delete the old crafting forums. There is an EMU trying to recreate the NGE. I keep telling myself I need to rewrite the guides and FAQs I wrote for the pre-CU EMU I have been playing in, but I havent yet.
What we really need is Zimoon to come back and rewrite SWGAide and his Beginners Guide, but he keeps telling us he is not interested.
If there is anything in the old crafting forums that you want, let us know (Sobuno, 0nyx or myself).

SWGaide don't work with the Emu?
Oh man, and I've deleted all my spreadsheets I've worked so hard on.

Well I have a specific question for those playing the Pre-Cu Emu.
If memory serves me right, in NGE, if a schematic wanted say OQ and SR (50/50) of whatever, for this purpose say inorganic.
If I had something with very high OQ and NO SR (not zero, the stat was missing) say 950 OQ and NO SR it was way better to use that instead of a resource with decent OQ and SR say 800 OQ and 850 SR.
Is this true for Pre-CU as well?
I havent mastered any crafting profession yet and don't even have a house so haven't really had the opportunity and try out crafting more than grinding architect (I have a LOT of walls in my inventory right now
. I know there was huge changes made to crafting and having playing both Pre-Cu and NGE I have a real hard time telling stuff apart

yes it is true as long as at least one resource has the stat.

Thank you, btw I saw a post on the SWGEMU forums someone claiming that the crafting station's quality don't matter...
Is that true? Is it a bug/not yet implemented feature? So I could make my own crafting stations with grind resources?
As a not-yet-master architect that would be awesome NOT having to buy the top notch crafting stations for 60-100k a pop just yet as I'm struggling to keep up my house and harvesters right now.

Yes it is true. I might have been the one posting it. One of the great things about the EMU is we dont have to guess at how things work, we have access to the code and can even talk to the devs who wrote it.
In SOEs game (called "Live" in the EMU) most of us noticed that crafting station quality seemed to make no difference or if there was a difference it was very small. It was very late in the NGE when a dev finally admitted that crafting station effectiveness ratings were not being used. The dev claimed it was a long standing bug, that the original intent was for the ratings to make a difference, but got bugged. This dev asked for community input on what to do. The consensus came back to make the Crafting Stations have some bonus, but not game changing, a few more "amazing successes" but not guaranteed or even close to that. And that is what we got.
Armed with this knowledge, the EMU devs did not include crafting station effectiveness as a part of any crafting formulas. They can rightly claim that "that's the way it was in pre-CU"
I use a good CD metal and get a +14 rating on the crafting stations I sell on my vendor. I dont add any of the subcomponants and only charge 2k for them. That satisfies my conscience that I am not selling total crap. My conscience would not let me try to sell a really top rated crafting station for big money when I know it's not worth it either.

Thank you, but the other stuff still matters right? quality on crafting tools, research center etc?
Still on my architect grind, filling my inventory with walls... Chasing stupid ore spawns that despawn after a day
Wheres your vendor then, only find crafting stations ranging between 60-100k...
EDIT: leveled my architect a bit more and made myself some stations

Yes Crafting tools affect the crafting equation, research city does now too, dont forget chef food and drinks.
Check "Current Resources" here daily, note the length (in hours or days) of the spawn. For Ore, look for the JTL ore, Fermionic Siliclastic Ore, it stays in spawn 14-21 days as opposed to the other ores which only spawn for 7-10 days. And the JTL ore can be found in concentrations over 90% sometimes. All the others top out in the 60% range (or lower). Bad thing is it only spawns on one planet. Right now its on Dantooine, a tough place to harvest, but look for it to spawn next (in a couple days or more, it has really been there 12 days, not 4) on an easier planet.
My vendors are outside Theed -6460 3650 Just Architect and Artisan goods.
