SWGAide v0.7.33 Beta

Hi all,
for a while I have been pottering with an application that aims at enhancing our experience with SWG. Finally my baby has become that sound and stable that I would like some adventurous guys to test it out and provide me some feedback. I welcome as well harsh critique as bug reports and enhancement requests.

What is this application about?
  • Manual upload of resources to SWGCraft, single or multiple, optionally from in.game notes file
  • Resource inventory, monitors/guards, harvesting support, now with cross-galaxy support
  • Resource browser
  • Support for ISDroid reports and submissions of to this site, including manual submissions
  • Auction mail support (á la Merchants Friend)
  • Off-line game-mail client
  • Screen shot album
  • Text editor for "notes"
  • Macros viewer
  • Aliases viewer
Instructions, screen shots and download at SWGAide homepage.

Closest future plans (ordered):
  1. fix all the inevitable bugs you will find and adjust whatever you throw at me related to the current version
  2. add schematic browsing
  3. add those small thingies you ask for and suggest :)
  4. enhance viewers with editing capacity
  5. whatever bigger additions you ask for
Please use this thread for feedback, or in-game to Europe-Chimaera.Zimoon if your prefer that.

Have fun

/Zimoon & Oarun

Good idea would be to point out that it is the link in your signature you're speaking of :)

 Have you installed the latest Java JRE from Sun? The installer should associate JAR files with the correct binary in the Java world and if it did not you may have other issues with your Java installation as well, which you may want to remedy.

Meanwhile, you can manually associate the JAR file with Java by right clicking and select Open with... I believe the correct binary to associate with is C:\Program\Java\jre1.6.0_02\bin\javaw.exe

Does that work?

Googling a tad on Savacc's issue reveals this may be a Windows issue (tell me which issue is not ;) ). You may want to try this:
  1. Try running the JAR file from the command prompt?

    Code: Select all

    java -jar SWGAide.jar
If it is not working then you have a problem with your Java installation. Uninstall everything Java related and install the most recent version. The JRE is enough unless you use to develop Java stuff.
  2. If 1) worked, go to My Computer → Tools → File Types, select JAR, select Advanced, click on Edit. Make it look similar to (depending on your system)

    Code: Select all

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6_0_02\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*
Be careful with the quotes and all other microscopic signs.
I hope this helps but of course the installation, or Windows, should handle this automagically.

Don't be ashamed, you do a great job here to proud yourself of.

That you did not see my first hint was a sure sign I was not clear enough, so the error was on my behalf.

Now at 0.4.1 Beta

Fixed a minor issue with notes.txt files and added some minor features, such as a history.txt which is saved to harddisk at first launch after download/update.

I will hold on to major updates until I hear some feedback. I simply do not believe in perfect, bug-free software. They are simply not tested hard enough yet :P

I went to sun's website and downloaded the latest Javascript files. That worked, so I didnt need any of the other fixes. :D

Yeah looks pretty good, I will have to down this when I get home as well and put it on my laptop, give it a try. Looks very promising.

LoL With the exception of the 5 minutes of "OMG I've lost my screenshots!!!" I'm finding it pretty easy to use. I like being able to pop my guildmails together in their own folder and if you can get the Merchant's Friend-like thingie working I'll be a very happy Twi :)

Hopefully you found your screen shots, all of them, in the <new_folder>\album, right?

Yeah, I was home sick today so I modeled a bit how to do the MM thing and I guess I have the model straight, just need the time to implement it now.

Realized I need to move some of the GUI stuff around: it makes sense to have the leftmost tree outside the tabbed pane since so many other, upcoming things are related to what galaxy and what character you are at. That shuffling will take a week or so but will also give plenty of time to address bugs you will find.

If I hadn't my reply would have been a lot different :D

Hopefully the game will be back up soon, then I can poke it a lot more to see if any bugs appear :)

And get well soon *hugs*
