Java Admin error (Win 7)

Post by Darkflier_Industries » Mon Jan 10, 2011 8:59 pm

I just downloaded and went through the proper motions (javaw.jar file to run as admin in properties) and still recieve a pop up when opening SWGAide stating this..verbatim:::

Error testing administrator mode:
java.io.IOException: Access is denied
OS: Windows 7
See Windows section in SWGAide_README.txt
If you continue SWGAide may crash or misbehave

Exit?

yes///no

I have read and applied the proper changes etc. as per the readme text. please assist.

Fixed!! :)

If anyone running Win 7 64bit version you may need to go into the Program Files(86x) to the appropriate Javaw file and run that as admin as well. It fixed my issue.

Thanks for SWGAide I am sure I will enjoy using it.

And a big thanks to you for coming back with the solution. I notived at my work laptop that the Oracle site had some issues figuring out whether to install 32 or 64 bits Java and settled with 32. One must then remember that some stuff in MS Explorer seems to require the 32-bit version, don't ask me what that is.

I have both 32 and 64 bit installed, thus I had to make sure the javaw file on both the program files side and the program files (86x) side were running as administrator, just to cover bases.
