Better lucky than good?

Can I get a final verdict on how significant a game mechanic is the luck stat?

In SWG it is definitely better to be good then lucky.

The thing is Luck is the only stat that has any affect at all on crafting. So if you are crafting, you might as well wear it. In most crafting, large amounts of Luck have only marginal benefits. You get a few more <LUCKY> breaks while experimenting. In REing powerbits, luck has a bigger role and most REers consider it essential.

Okay, but let me ask this. The Sunday before last, I managed to catch both required Endor fishes for Master Angler within 10 minutes of each other at the same spot. The odds against that happening have to be big, so was that my luck or the character's at work? The character has a luck of 210.

If you see the <LUCKY> text fly off your char and float off the screen, then you know that your luck score was invoked. If you dont see that, then your luck score probably was not involved. We can never know for certain, because the devs wont tell us all of the places where Luck is a factor.

Well that's the thing, I'll get the lucky! up on the screen while foraging all the time, and then still find nothing. Was really starting to think that lucky thing doesn't mean much.
