Forum Ranks

Post by Slyvampy » Sun Mar 25, 2007 12:53 am

I have made a basic list of forum ranks that can be obtained based on the old system.

Novice Crafter
Apprentice Crafter
Intermediate Crafter
Advanced Crafter
Master Crafter

How are these ranks attained? I only ask as I am concerned that if they are post count determined it coulkd lead to pointless spam.

aye, however, post counts can be adjusted by the admin if it is determined that one is posting to attain a rank listing. Spam, for the most part, is going to be inevitable as people do feel that higher counts equal more cloute. im not sure if the ranks, here, can be set to time registered like they are at the official forums, though.

at SWGCraft, most people payed little attention to what their forum rank was listing at...which is a lot different than the emphisis placed at the official forums...which is good.

Not sure if this is do-able, but since forum rank is either based on time registered or post count which honestly means nothing for most.

Is there a way to assign a point system where ppl that contribute get rank?

so say

IE) cerceuill tend to only post spam, his rank would still be novice. Where as someone else may post little, yet most post are helpful to others. And in return would gain points or something that wwould go towards a higher rank?

The inital idea of forum ranks was to be determind on post count, however we are swinging towards the idea of resource entry point system, simular ot the old swgcraft.com but this time it would affect your rank.

Later on this could be expanded on etc. (the ranks can be fixed at any time by any of the admin staff).

What about rank by contribution? If a post is useful, people can add to the users reputation, the more reputation you have the higher rank you get.

Quality over quantity I'd say. :)

100% agreed, we do however need to implement a system for this.

Once I finish the skin, I can see if I can create a mod for it.

Btw I've been set back on creating the skin I've been a bit busy,
