Re: The Trouble With Y-Wings

Some people do prefer flying the bomber type chassis so if nothing else it does cater for them, in pvp there is nothing as scary as chasing a Y wing LP only to have its tailgunner open up on you. The heavy Z or any heavy variant is more than enough to get you from tier 1 to master, there slightly un...

Re: Gunships

I would look to get rid of that iff tube Ozip, 8 cm shots compared to 15-16 from standard chaff will mean you take a lot more hits, more so if you venture into Ord and start getting buzzed by tier 9-10's, and with only using lvl 8 fibretech armour the survivability time will be quite a bit less with...

Re: Gunships

One other thing you can utilise is the rebel shield programs, we tried them last night (not in pvp mind) with an experienced pilot running them from a turret. The FC load was as follows, reactor, engine, cap overload and weapons all on overload 4's, cap to shield shunt 3, and shield reinforce front...

Re: Is there a market for this business venture?

It may well work OK for newer traders who won't either have the resource depth or spread of resources that an elder player would have, as they start to aquire there own resources then you would probably find them starting to use less and less of your sub parts. One major downside to it is the cost, ...

Re: Ship Armour...

You will be a lot harder for the AI to hit with the Z 95, stick as good an engine and shields in there as you can and an RE weapon, RE blasters (even bad ones) are a lot more effective than crafted. Also use whatever droid commands you can, weapon overload and engine overloads are more or less a mus...

Re: Ship Armour...

Sounds like a heavy X chassis if its 180k mass, if i was loading one up i would look to end up with this loadout, 2x RE borstel/tri cannons at 50k mass (44k mass) (i'm allowing excess mass on most parts here, ideal RE mass is in brackets), a Mk5 engine 34k mass, a lvl 6 reactor 12k mass 26k+ gen (9k...

Re: What sort of ship components are in demand these days?

High end chassis don't specifically need high end server best resources, i allways use resources that have a high average for the 4 mass stats (ut,sr,oq,ma) this allows you to use the slightly lower oq steels and irons etc without comprimising on your ship parts crafting as you will be using up the ...

Re: What sort of ship components are in demand these days?

Trying to sell consumables as a stand alone shippy isn't easy, you are relying solely on those two lines (missiles/chaff) of produce to bring in the punters, sell the launchers for them as well at the very least or, look for a decent shipwright who only makes parts or chassis and see if you can team...

Re: old shipwright returning

Savacc, I think you made the point a while back that luck doesn't appear to affect ship parts experimentation so I didn't worry about it making a suit No there is no evidence that Luck enters into the experimentation roll itself, certainly not in the way Luck affects RE Chance. There is however a p...

Re: old shipwright returning

The crafted reactors are still excellent for squadron grinding pilots, age of JTL though means a lot of pilots are allready kitted out with pretty good gear, if your looking to stick a few RE reactors up take a look at lvl 4-7 raw loots mostly, these can drop quite frequently with both stats better ...

Re: What sort of ship components are in demand these days?

Speed capped engines made with all 3 sub types (speed, overhaul, stabiliser), capped recharge caps, armour made with high hitpoints, decent long burn boosters with speed sub and some speed experimentation on em, high end chassis (yes there a pain/drain on resources but plan ahead for them) heavy var...

Re: foraging macro

Slight variation of this would be: /prone; /pause .5; /stand; /pause .5; /prone; etc etc etc /forage; /pause 3; /macro forage; This macro is dependent on your toons height, my wook for example needs 6 prone/pause/stands before foraging however my rodian requires about 9. Also you need flat ground, s...

Re: RE v. Crafted

Currently, virtually all crafted ship weapons are inferior to looted reasonably well RE'd blasters. Mid grade sized reactors 15-30k+ gen rates are also better when RE'd than there crafted counterparts. Engines are probably fairly evenly balanced, you gain with crafted engines on a mass/performance r...

Well thanks guys, I am thinking I am understand this whole thing better now. And Savacc I think your spot on, ((other then I cant post on SOE forums cause I have a trail account)). They should have given the gun ship deed. And of course I had no clue it took years to make something decent. Other ga...
